Easter Outreach in Colorado

On Saturday March 19, in spite of the snow and cold temperatures, we enjoyed helping with our Coyote Run Easter Egg Hunt.  We provided 200 of the 700 eggs, and lots of popcorn and hot chocolate!  We had planned to have a bounce house for the kids as well, but the weather didn’t cooperate.  However, we had a chance to meet lots of our neighbors and they found out we were there to serve our community.

On Saturday March 26, we still had snow and cold temperatures, but we enjoyed helping with Mead’s Community Easter Egg Hunt.  Because this was a community event, we helped “hide” 5,000 eggs!  And, we were also allowed to give away 180 boxes of popcorn and 7 gallons of hot chocolate!  There were an estimated 200-300 kids and adults who showed up and it’s likely that many of them heard of Grandview Church for the very first time!

Lisa enjoyed putting together Easter baskets for about a dozen of the kids in our immediate neighborhood.  The kids (and their parents) really seemed to enjoy how they helped pass the time with coloring and stickers!  The cross necklaces must have been a big hit as we noticed some of the little girls wearing them!
On Easter morning we invited our neighbors to an Easter Brunch in our home and 13 adults and kids attended.  We encouraged them to come to an Easter Celebration at a local church with us afterward but we didn’t have any takers.  We went by ourselves and wept during the service as we thought about our neighbors without Jesus who would have been so touched by being there with us.  Thanks for praying with us for our unreached friends and neighbors…

We are so grateful for your partnership with us as we plant Grandview Church in Mead!!!  We found out just this week that our support from NAMB will be reduced $300/mo. beginning this month.  While NAMB funds to Colorado have not been reduced, we have grown to about 45 church planters in Colorado and the state budget can no longer support all of us at our present levels.  And since NAMB recently gave the IMB four million dollars to help them during their recent financial crisis, they don’t have any extra funds to help states like Colorado who are committed to planting as many churches as possible.  Unfortunately this year’s Annie Armstrong Easter Offering funds will not available for church planters for several months.  Our support has already been running about $1,500/mo. short up to this point, but the Lord continues to provide through Lisa’s work and the generous gifts of so many of you!  While we continue to be confident of God’s faithful and gracious provision, please pray with us concerning these needs.  And if the Lord should lay it on your heart to increase your financial support, or to begin supporting us financially, we would be so grateful!  You can invest in our ministry by mailing a check to: Grandview Church, PO Box 689, Mead, CO  80542  Or, go online and give securely by credit card through our website at www.makelovegrowco.com.  All gifts to Grandview Church are tax deductible.
If you have prayer needs that you would like to share with us, we would be honored to pray specifically for you.  We look forward to hearing from you, and to sharing with you next time — the answers to our prayers, and the fruit of our labors here in Northern Colorado!  God’s best to you always!
Bruce & Lisa Hendrich, NAMB Church Planters
